01 / READING THE PAST
Understanding the evidence.
The story of the Taíno people cannot be reduced to one image or a handful of dates. Archaeological findings, historic documents and contemporary scholarship each contribute to a fuller, more careful understanding.

The strongest stories give the evidence room to speak.
02 / CULTURE & CONTINUITY
History, memory and living identity.
Puerto Rican culture reflects an intricate history of continuity, exchange and transformation. Understanding that history means considering both what scholars can substantiate and how people experience identity in the present.
